Datadog is building AI-assisted agents to help our users solve operational and security-related problems in an automated way. This ambitious project consumes data about our customers’ systems, discovers potential problems, proposes solutions, and offers those solutions to users with manual and automated steps. The goal for the team is to provide pathways to resolve problems identified across Datadog products.
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in ML/AI or security engineering (SIEM) to help drive this effort. While we are not building models directly, we are employing cutting-edge technologies, including generative AI, to deliver an exceptional user experience.
At Datadog, we value office culture for the collaboration, relationships, and creativity it fosters. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our team can balance work and life in a way that works best for them.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and implement solutions to investigate and remediate operational and security problems.
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to develop the next generation of Datadog features.
- Advocate for the project across Datadog and contribute to its strategic direction.
- Engage with users regularly to gather feedback and uncover needs.
- Balance thoroughness and speed, prioritizing delivering the right value at the right time.
- Integrate expertise from other teams to enhance solution pathways.
- Mentor and support the growth of other engineers within the team.
Who You Are:
- Passionate about Generative AI and its potential to enhance software and security engineering productivity.
- Adept at navigating ambiguity and delivering results efficiently, overcoming blockers as needed.
- Excited to engage directly with users to better understand their challenges and needs.
- Comfortable working across the stack and tackling any technical challenge to move a project forward.
- Experienced in fast-paced environments, such as startups, and eager to contribute to a high-impact initiative.
- Holder of a BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific field, or possess equivalent experience.
Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
